Five Drug Arrests in 24 Hours

Wilmington, IL – Police took five total people into custody stemming from three separate drug arrests within a period of 24 hours from Thursday into Friday. The first arrest was around 9:30 p.m. at Shell. With how often there’s multiple squad cars parked at the Shell station in town, it’s hard to believe somebody would be so stupid as to have illegal drugs out in the open there. However, police arrested Kathleen Tutterow of Wilmington after seeing heroin and syringes just lying on her car seat.

More heroin related arrests were made around 12:30 p.m. the next day at Van Buren and Washington. Bertha Fronek of Morris, Charles J. Headley of Wilmington, and Jake E. Richardson of Wilmington were arrested after a traffic stop. All three had heroin on their person.

Around 9:30 p.m. Friday the last of the group of arrests was made. Joshua Cacia of Coal City was arrested at The Rustic Inn in Wilmington. There was an outstanding warrant for his arrest, and police received a tip that he would be visiting The Rustic that evening. While making the arrest for the outstanding warrant, police found cocaine on him.

Hopefully these arrests are a first major step to fighting the drug problem in Wilmington.
