Wilmington, IL – The great debate over whether or not to allow packaged sales of beer and wine at places other than the three established liquor stores in Wilmington will likely (at least temporarily) end tonight. Traffic is stopped in town. It’s backed up from downtown past Burger King and all the way down Strip Mine Road. Police are directing traffic at Strip Mine and 129. Can’t see what happened.

Wilmington, IL – Ever since the dividing line was painted on North Water Street it has felt unsafe. The line is much too close to the diagonal spots. When big trucks are in those spots you have to swing wide into the oncoming lane to avoid hitting the parked trucks.
